• °C = (°F − 32) × 5/9

Why temperature is different

Most units convert with a single multiplier, but temperature scales start at different zero points. Celsius and Fahrenheit meet at −40°, the one temperature that reads the same on both scales. Kelvin shares Celsius’ degree size but starts at absolute zero.
